Influence of the synthesis parameters on the efficiency of fluorescent ion-imprinted polymers for lead detection

New fluorescent ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) specific for Pb(II) detection were synthesized by precipitation polymerization. The activity of the IIPs was provided a functional monomer, ANQ-ST, based on chelating 5-amino-8-hydroxyquinoline moiety coupled to anthracene and styrenic group. Various synthesis parameters tested: metal/functional monomer ratio, polymerization solvent crosslinker (ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate, EGDMA, or divinylbenzene, DVB). characterization different carried out solid-state 13C NMR spectroscopy, analyse structure attest integration ANQ-ST in polymer matrix, scanning electron microscopy nitrogen adsorption/desorption experiments, study morphology prepared materials. After characterization, their corresponding non-imprinted (NIPs) subjected various fluorescence studies, order conclude influence onto properties. results demonstrated that IIP with ratio 0.42 DMSO/MeOH (1:1, v/v) using EGDMA as very sensitive presence ions almost not other tested (Ag(I), Na(I), Ca(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II) Zn(II)), even introduced high excess. Calibration curves performed matrices: ultra-pure water, buffered water at pH 7.0 8.1, seawater, tap water.
